Carl Smit
CEO - Former Navy Seal
Smit began his professional career as a Navy SEAL. After business school, Smit launched into a career transforming the retail industry as an executive at Apple, Under Armour, and Verizon. He joined DroneUp as their 15th employee as Chief Strategy Officer and led their strategy, sales, and marketing teams into their investment from and contract with Walmart. During his time at DroneUp Smit engaged with technology providers across the industry to assess best-in-class partners.
Gur Kimchi
Technical Fellow, Co-Founder
Co-founder of Amazon Prime Air and member of the FAA Drone Advisory Committee for nearly a half a decade, Kimchi is an industry leader who has helped shape modern autonomous aviation. Preceding his work at Amazon, Kimchi held leadership positions at Microsoft and five startups. He has nearly 300 issued patents to his name and hundreds more in process.

Regulatory & Safety, Co-Founder
Hanlon most recently served as the Director of Maintenance & Airworthiness at Zipline International. There he led efforts with Regulatory, Engineering, and Production teams to establish and scale commercial (Part 135) UAS operations in the US for the company. Before joining Zipline, Hanlon played a key role at Amazon Prime Air. Prior to his time at Amazon, he held a managerial positions in the Maintenance & Engineering and Operations divisions at Alaska Airlines. Hanlon holds FAA Mechanic, Pilot, and Remote Pilot certificates.
